About Code Europe event

- Dave Aronson – T. Rex @Codosaurus
Dave has 36 years of experience in a wide variety of languages, systems, techniques, domains, etc. Currently, he is the T. Rex of Codosaurus, LLC in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. His main work is software development consulting, which combines actually writing code with advising clients on how to do that better. He has spoken at many conferences, user groups, etc., about Mutation Testing, ACRUMEN (his new definition of software quality), some differences between Functional and Object Oriented programming,etc.
- Gema Parreño Piqueras – Lead Data Science @Apiumhub
Gema Parreno is currently a Lead Data Scientist at Apiumhub, passionate about machine learning and video games, with three years of experience at BBVA and later at Google in ML Prototype. She started her own startup (Cubicus) in 2013. Gema is well known for sharing knowledge in various tech events across Europe and also for creating open-source developments.
- Mikko Hyppönen – Security & Privacy Expert @F-Secure
Mikko Hypponen is a global security expert. He has worked at F-Secure for more than 30 years. Mr. Hypponen has written on his research for the New York Times, Wired, and Scientific American and he appears frequently on international TV. He has lectured at the universities of Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge. He was selected among the 50 most important people on the web by the PC World magazine and was included in the FP Global 100 Thinkers list. Mr. Hypponen sits on the advisory boards of t2 and Social Safeguard. HAs a speaker, he has delivered hundreds of talks and presentations on over forty countries at conferences Worldwide including Black Hat, DEF CON, DLD and RSA. Additionally, Mikko has given talks at high-profile events such as TED, TEDx, DLD, SXSW, and Google Zeitgeist.
- Nicolas Fränkel – Developer Advocate @Hazelcast
Developer Advocate with 15+ years experience consulting for many different customers, in a wide range of contexts (such as telecoms, banking, insurances, large retail and public sector). Usually working on Java/Java EE and Spring technologies, but with focused interests like Rich Internet Applications, Testing, CI/CD and DevOps. Currently working for Hazelcast. Also double as a trainer and triples as a book author.
- Steef-Jan Wiggers – Technical Integration Architect @HSO
Steef-Jan Wiggers works in the Netherlands as a Technical Integration Architect at HSO and is one of InfoQ’s senior cloud editors. His current technical expertise focuses on integration platform implementations, Azure DevOps, and Cloud Solution Architectures. Steef-Jan is a board member of the Dutch Azure User Group, a regular speaker at conferences and user groups, and he writes for InfoQ, and Serverless Notes. Furthermore, Microsoft has recognized him as Microsoft Azure MVP for the past eleven years.
- Eldert Grootenboer – Technology Lead – Azure MVP @Motion10
Eldert can be described as an Azure MVP, Technology Lead, Cloud Solution Architect, blogger, public speaker and technical author. He can regularly be seen on conferences and user groups, speaking on Cloud related topics, with a strong focus on Azure. His experience with the Cloud comes from his daily work with these technologies in many innovative projects with various clients, as well as his drive to further dive into the latest developments in his spare time. Eldert enjoys sharing his knowledge with the community, and believes this is the best way to each other obtain more and better opportunities.

- Laurent Picard – Developer Advocate @Google
Laurent is a developer passionate about software, hardware, science, and everything shaping the future. In a past life, he worked on educational solutions, pioneered the ebook industry, and co-founded Bookeen. Launching 24/7 digital platforms made him appreciate how much cloud technologies are developer superpowers. Laurent works at Google Cloud Paris and enjoys exploring, learning, and sharing the world of possibilities.
- Bjarne Stroustrup – Creator & developer of C++ @Morgan Stanley
Bjarne Stroustrup is the designer and original implementer of C++ as well as the author of The C++ Programming Language (4 th Edition) and A Tour of C++ (2 nd edition), Programming: Principles and Practice using C++ (2 nd Edition), and many popular and academic publications. Dr. Stroustrup is a Technical Fellow and Managing Director in the technology division of Morgan Stanley in New York City as well as a visiting professor at Columbia University. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, and an IEEE, ACM, and CHM fellow. He is the recipient of the 2018 NAE Charles Stark Draper Prize for Engineering and the 2017 IET Faraday Medal. He did much of his most important work in Bell Labs. His research interests include distributed systems, design, programming techniques, software development tools, and programming languages.
- Nikhil Barthwal – Software Engineer / Start-up consultant @Software consultant
Nikhil Barthwal is passionate about building distributed systems. He has several years of work experience in both big companies & smaller startups and also acts as a mentor to several startups. Outside of work, he speaks at local meetups as well as international conferences on several topics related to Distributed systems & Programming Languages.
- Evgenii Vinogradov – Director, Analytical Solutions Department @YooMoneyon
Evgenii is the Head of Data Engineering and Data Science team at YooMoney, the leading payment service provider on the CIS Market. Evgenii with his team have completed a wide range of projects including an accounting system based on blockchain technologies (as an analyst), a BRE+ML-based antifraud engine (as an architect and project manager), Business Intelligence solutions (as a developer, analyst, architect, project manager), and many others. Currently, Evgenii participates in ML projects as ML Architect and PM. Also, he serves as the Program Director for Data science/Data Engineering Educational Program at Skillbox.
- Heather VanCura – Senior Director and Chairperson of the JCP @Oracle/JCP
Heather VanCura in the director and chairperson of the Java Community Process (JCP) program. In her role she is responsible for leadership of the community. In this role she also serves as an international speaker, mentor, and leader or hack days. VanCura oversees the work of the JCP executive committee, the JCP.org web site, JSR management, community building, events, communications, and growth of the membership. She is also a contributor and leader of the community-driven user group adoption programs. She is the spec lead for JSRs as part of the ongoing JCP.Next effort to evolve the JCP itself. Heather is based at HQ, is passionate about Java, developer communities.

Jimmy Engström loves to be on the cutting edge of technology, trying new things. He has been running Blazor in production since it was launched by Microsoft. He is the author of “Web Development with Blazor” and the co-host of Coding After Work (podcast and stream). His passion for the .NET industry and community has taken him around the world, speaking about development. Microsoft has recognized this passion by awarding him the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award 8 years in a row.

Craig is a Software Engineer from New Zealand, working at Spotify in Stockholm. He loves building cool things that help teams build cool things!
- Jessica Engstrom – UXer @Azm Dev
Jessica is a CEO, teacher and international speaker and has travelled the world sharing knowledge about her passions. She is a Microsoft MVP and has been part of the developer community for many years, she organizes conferences, events, hackathons and runs multiple user groups. Jessica is the co-host of Coding After Work, a podcast and a stream on Twitch.
- Olena Borzenko – Full Stack Developer @The Adecco Group
Olena is a full-stack developer at The Adecco Group from Berlin in Germany. She has previously worked in a service company based in Ukraine and took a part in the creation of various products from small startups, B2B applications, to enterprise platforms. Moreover, she is passionate about new technologies, clean code, and best practices. In her free time, when she’s not spending it on hobbies, she likes to build demos around real-life use cases, share knowledge with others, and the opposite, learn about someone else’s experience.
- Pablo Chico de Guzman – Founder & CTO @Okteto
Software Engineer specialized in Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps and backend implementations. Pablo is a Founder @Okteto (www.okteto.com) helping companies to adopt Kubernetes and accelerate their development workflows. Previously, he has worked @Docker in the Docker Cloud project (formerly Tutum), a container platform to take full advantage of the amazing technology that Docker containers are. As a Docker Community Leader, he organizes the Docker Madrid Meetup, a group of 3500 enthusiastic DevOps, that find Docker useful in their day-to-day business.
- Hadi Hariri – VP of Developer Advocacy @JetBrains
Developer and creator of many things OSS, he has been programming in one way, shape or form since the age of 12. Author of various publications and courses, Hadi has been speaking at industry events for nearly two decades. Host to Talking Kotlin, he works at JetBrains leading the Developer Advocacy team, and spends as much time as he can writing code.
